What is EteSync?
Secure and end-to-end encrypted personal information sync for Android, the desktop and the web. Currently supports calendars, contacts and tasks (using OpenTasks), with more on the way.
In order to use this application you need to have an account with EteSync (paid hosting), or run your own instance (free and open source). Check out https://www.etesync.com/ for more information.
Easy to Use
EteSync is very easy to use. It seamlessly integrates with Android so you won't even notice you are using it. Security doesn't always have to come at a cost.
Secure & Open
Thanks to zero-knowledge end-to-end encryption, not even we can see your data. Don't believe us? You shouldn't, just verify yourself, both the client and server are open source.
Full History
A full history of your data is saved in an encrypted tamper-proof journal which means you can review, replay and revert any changes you have made at any point in time.
How does it work?
EteSync integrates seamlessly with your existing apps. All you need to do is sign up (or run your own instance), install the app, and enter your password. After that, you will be able to save your contacts, calendar events and tasks to EteSync using your existing Android apps, and EteSync will transparently encrypt your data and update the change journal in the background. More security, same work-flow.

Comments and Reviews
EteSync is the most secure way to host your contacts, calendars, and notes. There is currently no other end-to-end encrypted solution for syncing this data that is also open source. EteSync has been easy to use and reliable on any platform except iOS. (iOS restrictions make it hard for EteSync to sync data reliably.)
It is the only solution for syncing tasks with E2EE I've found so far
Lets me and my wife sync each others calendars from android to ios although the ios app needs a bit of work
etesync in combination with Tasks for task management works much better than with OpenTasks. Tasks is much more versatile. etesync is an essential service for people who doesn't own a nextcloud instance but who want to have an End-to-End encrypted synchronized calendar, contacts and tasks. One step closer to independency.
Very good Sync, works like a charm for calendars, todo-lists and contacts on phones, and desktop
EteSync is really great open source E2EE app with dav bridge.
This is the best thing ever happened for me, using a Mac and Android Phones. I can fially sync my stuff with out using a not-trustworthy service. There is uch out there but EteSync is the only one you can be sure that you are the only one using your data

just as a addition.. EteSync seems still very much under development and although it's working makeing it work on any other platform then Android is very complicaded for the average computeruser.
