Esprima is described as 'high performance, standard-compliant ECMAScript parser written in ECMAScript (also popularly known as JavaScript). Esprima can be used to perform lexical analysis (tokenization) or syntactic analysis (parsing) of a JavaScript program' and is an app in the Development category. There are three alternatives to Esprima for Self-Hosted solutions. The best alternative is Meriyah, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Esprima are AcornJS (Free, Open Source) and Espree (Free, Open Source).

A 100% compliant, self-hosted JavaScript parser. Meriyah generates AST according to ESTree AST format, and can be used to perform syntactic analysis (parsing) of a JavaScript program, and with ES2015 and later a JavaScript program can be either a script or a module.
    1. Acorn is a tiny, fast JavaScript parser, written completely in JavaScript. Acorn is designed to support plugins which can, within reasonable bounds, redefine the way the parser works.

    2. An Esprima-compatible JavaScript parser originally forked from Esprima, now built on top of AcornJS, which has a modular architecture that allows extension of core functionality.
