ePSXe is not available for Mac but there are some alternatives that runs on macOS with similar functionality. The best Mac alternative is RetroArch, which is both free and Open Source. Duckstation is far more stable than ePSXe. It just works right out of the box. Effects are also easy to apply, quicksaves/quickloads don't crash the game, and is generally less of a hassle and more feature-rich than ePSXe. I'm surprised it isn't known by more people!
