What is Elokin?

Elokin is a native voice dictation app for Apple silicon Macs. Hold a custom keyboard shortcut, speak naturally, and release to transcribe. The resulting text is copied to the clipboard and ready to paste into a message, document, note, or AI prompt.

Speech recognition runs locally using models downloaded to the Mac. Built-in Raw, Polished, Concise, and Translate profiles can also process text locally without requiring an account, subscription, or cloud transcription service.

Elokin supports 30 transcription languages, automatic language detection, configurable shortcuts, and custom vocabulary for names, technical terms, frameworks, and product terminology. Vocabulary can be organized into categories or imported from a text file.

Optional custom profiles can connect to OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI-compatible providers using the user’s own credentials. Cloud processing is never required for the built-in workflow.
