EdrawMind is an excellent program. It's very similar to Microsoft Office applications, so you'll likely already be familiar with most of its functions. I found creating mind maps (or networks, diagrams—whatever you prefer to call them) very straightforward.
The best tip I can give is: create one item, then copy and paste it—this way, you save time by only customizing the minimum necessary.

Best mind mapping software I've ever used. The small number of likes here is misleading as this is by far the most professional software for creating, importing, and exporting mind maps. Definitely the best one for Linux-based systems. Highly recommended.
PS - don't bother with the app though as it has serious limitations.

Besides being visually appealing, I found it highly functional. You can insert items and collapse them (hide them from view), and you can also attach files. I genuinely found it very good.
I compared it with several similar programs, and this one is by far the best when it comes to offline functionality. It's one of the very few programs I’ve actually purchased for over $80 because the "Perpetual Plan" is truly worth it.
