Driver Magician Lite has saved my skin several times, when I've had to reinstall a system or revert back to older drivers when Windows couldn't do it.
If you want to update drivers, you need the commercial version: 29.95 $.
I compared it to the DriverBackup! program which is free and the backup result was identical. The only difference was that this program also leaves a text file that saying which versions that driver is compatible with, however, as I only do from one PC to the same PC it doesn't change anything for me. This program is only useful if you want to install it automatically, but I get DriverBackup! and I have the windows search the folder and it solves a lot by itself.
