Comments and Reviews
After many years an editor at dmoz I still have a soft spot for it.
Update: Volunteer editors have kept the directory going and are back to working on it with a new name, Curlie.org now. New editors are welcome to apply. We could use the help!

The Open Directory Project aka DMOZ was a human-created catalogue of sites. Search engines use automated algorithms, but DMOZ was human created, what is much better. Unfortunately, it no more exists; however, its static copy is available at http://dmoztools.net/.
