Vine is coming back in 2025 is not what I expected. It is way better!!

What is diVine?

diVine is a short form social video app that revives Vine icon Vine original six second looping format while running on the decentralized Nostr protocol. It includes the restored Vine video archive, letting users browse more than one hundred thousand classic clips alongside new posts created on the platform.

The app focuses on real user generated content, using authenticity checks to prevent generative AI videos. Users can view the archive, follow creators, build profiles, and record or upload their own looping six second videos.

Under the hood, diVine is an open source project backed by Jack Dorsey through the nonprofit And Other Stuff and built on Nostr so developers and communities can run their own relays and media servers. The platform uses Guardian Project’s ProofMode to cryptographically verify that uploaded videos were recorded on real devices, and original Vine creators can reclaim profiles or request removal of their archived clips.
