What is Deckhand?

Deckhand is a small presentation tool for slides that are already HTML, written by hand or generated.

Point it at a folder (one HTML file per slide plus a small deck.json) and you get three screens: the stage on the big screen, a remote on your phone with notes, thumbnails, timer and laser pointer, and a live link the audience opens on their own device. Everything is synced over WebSocket.

It is one Go binary for macOS, Linux and Windows. No account and no cloud needed to present on a local network: the command prints two QR codes and you are ready.

Slides run in sandboxed iframes (never allow-same-origin) with a strict CSP, so you can present HTML you did not write yourself.

An optional hub, that you can self-host, adds permanent links, remote viewers and simple stats. The local tool is MIT licensed, the hub is under the Business Source License 1.1.
