CurseForge used to be the place to go for mods, especially for Minecraft. Over time, however, it's degraded into slower downloads, more ads, and an overall worse experience.
The desktop app itself also has it's own problems, the biggest of which being the mandatory installation of Overwolf, an app with admin rights that constantly runs in the background of your computer. No thanks!
