Cram: AI Flashcard Maker

Cram is an AI-powered flashcard app for iPhone aimed at exam preparation. Instead of browsing pre-made decks, users generate cards from their own study material: a typed topic, pasted lecture notes, PDF and document uploads, camera scans of handouts, or web and YouTube links. The AI writes question-and-answer cards from that source in seconds, and decks can be renamed and edited afterwards.

Reviews are scheduled with the FSRS spaced-repetition algorithm (the newer alternative to Anki's SM-2), so cards return just before they would be forgotten. Setting an exam date adds a countdown and paces reviews toward that day. Cards can be studied as classic flip flashcards, multiple-choice questions, or typed answers.

Compared with Anki, Cram trades manual card authoring and add-ons for automatic AI generation and a simpler mobile-first interface. Compared with Quizlet and Cram.com, it deliberately has no public deck library — every card comes from the user's own material. Decks sync to an account, work offline, and card generation continues server-side if the app is closed. The app has no ads and does not sell user data.

Cram requires a Cram Pro subscription (monthly or yearly) after sign-up, with a free trial on the yearly plan.
