What is Comic Rocket?
Comic Rocket is a crowd-sourced indexing tool for users to find, read, bookmark and share their favorite webcomics. Users maintain reading lists that track their place in the archive of each comic as well as how many pages they have left to read.
Comic Rocket displays each comic with our navigation toolbar at the top of the page. Our nav tools maintain the reader's place inside the index for the comic they're viewing. Readers may also search for more comics with our search engine or via the Explore page. Users will also get recommendations shown to them based on their choices and other readers' behavior. If they like the comics they are offered they can add them to their list and start reading immediately.
When readers find a new webcomic to read they can add it to our collection and we will begin indexing it and archiving it within the hour. If anyone, creator or reader, has relevant information about a webcomic they can add it to our database or edit what is already there. If the creator has banner graphics for their comic, or convention appearance and online store information, they can send that to us to upload as well. However, because users are adding comics all the time, Comic Rocket can't notify creators that they have been added to the list. We do not control what comics our users add but we will remove any comic that its creator asks us to if they do not wish to be included by Comic Rocket.

Comic rocket's facebook login broke in early 2017. Despite repeated attempts at requesting info on their facebook page's wall, fb messenger, twitter, and email, they have not fixed it, or even posted any information about plans to do so. Anyone who created an account with a facebook login is locked out of their account. A few requests early on got responses of how they're a small two-man team with full time jobs and it'll take a while. They said if you could supply information on the account, they'd manually move your account to a local login, to send an email and they'd help. I did so, and never got a response. It's been almost two years, and I had to give up on a lot of webcomics I loved because I have no idea where in their ten year history I left off, and where to even find some of them any more, as I'd moved all my information to their service. My own fault for not retaining a backup, but the whole point of using their service was to have it remotely accessible and not have to continually cross-update two different files every time I read something.
Stopped working properly years ago!
The website fails to update around half of the comics you subscribe to. It is a real problem when you cannot tell if half of the comics you finished are on hiatus or if they did keep going and Comic Rocket doesn't know. I'll comb through my list and find several comics I've read to the latest page a year or two ago to still be going but not according to Comic Rocket. Their overlay also keeps around 25% of comics from displaying properly, so you'll have to read the latest pages separately and then come back to the website to log your progress, negating its purpose entirely!
They also got taken off of the Android Market too for featuring hardcore pornographic material and not updating their ratings for it, although this review is just for the website. I hope a better alternative comes around, or at least their people can get their act together!
