Many different kinds of software are security-critical, but with a web-browser it is even more important, since they are the windows into the world wide web and the first point of attack in case of security flaws.

That's why CometBird cannot be recommended anymore. The developers have stopped keeping up with the Firefox source and haven't released a new version since Firefox 11 came out in March/April of 2012.

If you want to use an alternative Firefox fork, that is always up-to-date, try WaterFox (using your regular Firefox profile) or Pale Moon (creating a new and separate profile).
