Cobalt is a great way to download videos from various platforms. I have only used it for YouTube, but it appears as though it will work with several video streaming sites as well. One of my favorite features is that it runs as a web app so I don't have to download a dedicated app!

You can download videos and images from many services, including Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, Bluesky, and (of course) YouTube (although with occasional problems since Google is still onto us about ad-free and high-quality downloads...)

You can also use remux to fix any issues that your videos may have.

There are also a couple or so instances for the service as well, but for downloading YouTube videos, your best bet is pretty much to use the official instance: cobalt.tools

What is Cobalt Tools?

Cobalt is a social and media platform downloader that doesn't piss you off.

It's fast, friendly, and doesn't have any bullshit that modern web is filled with: no ads, trackers, or analytics. Paste the link, get the video, move on. It's that simple. Just how it should be.

supported services: • Bilibili.com and Bilibili.tv • Dailymotion videos • Instagram reels & video posts • OK Videos • Pinterest (all media) • Reddit videos & gifs • Rutube videos • Soundcloud • TikTok videos & photos & audio • Tumblr • Twitch clips • Twitter posts & spaces & voice • Vimeo • Vine archive • VK video & clips • Youtube videos & shorts & music

This list is not final and keeps expanding over time, make sure to check it once in a while!

Cobalt does not (and will never) serve ads or sell your data, therefore it's completely free to use.

Cobalt has an open API that you can use in your projects for free. It's easy and straightforward to use, check out the docs and see for yourself.

Cobalt's privacy policy is simple: no data about you is ever collected or stored. zero, zilch, nada, nothing. what you download is your business, not mine.
