What is claude-desktop-rpm?

Anthropic ships the Claude Desktop Linux beta only as a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu. claude-desktop-rpm is a small open-source Bash script that downloads that official package, checks Anthropic's signing key fingerprint, the signed repository index and both checksums, and installs it into the home folder without root and without changing the app.

It also fixes things that don't work on Fedora out of the box: the System theme following GNOME's dark mode, Cowork's QEMU/KVM and firmware paths, and the tray icon on GNOME. A doctor command checks the setup and prints fixes, and a daily systemd user timer keeps the app updated.

This is a community project, not affiliated with Anthropic.
