What is Claude Code Local?

Claude Code Local lets you keep using Claude Code on your own computer when you hit your usage limit or run out of credits. A small server speaks the Anthropic Messages API on top of Apple's MLX on Apple Silicon Macs, or llama.cpp on Linux and Windows, so Claude Code works with open models like Qwen and Gemma with no API key and no rate limits. The installer picks a model for your RAM, and typing exit then keep going carries the same conversation over to the local model. Your code never leaves the machine. MIT licensed.
