What is ChordSequence?

Chord Sequence is a free browser-based tool for building, playing, and exporting chord progressions. Drag chords onto a timeline, choose a rhythm style, and hear the progression played back live with piano, guitar, and bass — no DAW, plugin, or installation needed.

Key features:

  • Drag-and-drop chord editor with 37+ chord qualities (major, minor, 7ths, 9ths, sus, add, altered, and more)
  • 17 rhythm styles (pop, rock, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, Latin, worship, and more), each with its own instrument arrangement
  • Live playback with adjustable BPM, metronome, and instrument mute/solo
  • One-click transposition to any key
  • Export progressions to WAV, MP3, or MIDI for use in any DAW
  • Import/export via MIDI hardware or file
  • Save and revisit songs without creating an account
  • Fully responsive — works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers

Chord Sequence also includes a bass tab editor and player as a separate tool for working out bass lines note by note.

No installation, no subscription, and no account required to use the editor.
