I don't mind "Pro" features being paid, but "Pro" features locked behind subscription in Cavalry feels more like trying to force people to get a subscription.
For example, you can only work with projects of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, so Cavalry cannot be used to accommodate all kinds of projects that may require unconventional sizes.
Some of the other subscription-only features are:
- Layouts (Create stacks of Shapes in rows, columns or grids.)
- Lottie export
- Components/Symbols -...
- POX added Cavalry as alternative to Autodesk Flame
- goxat46139 added Cavalry as alternative to Left Angle Autograph

It's perhaps the only best alternative to Adobe After Effects right now.
A supposed alternative to Adobe AE. Among many features similar to AE it is advertised as having native Lottie support.
However it is far from ideal. Lottie files rendered from Cavalry more often than not have objects misshapen or miscolored, completely randomized coordinates or resulting file have nonsensically large size. Purchasing the "Pro" version will grant you "read the docs" level of tech support.
Although it is on average 33% cheaper than the AE.

Basic features like arranging shapes, export with audio, and even custom shortcut keys require a subscription here. It's pretty wild.
