What is Cashculator?

Cashculator is a personal finance and budget forecasting app for Mac. Instead of concentrating only on transactions that have already happened, it helps you understand your cash flow and see where your finances are heading. Its familiar spreadsheet-like interface separates income from expenses and planned amounts from actual results, giving you a clear overview without accounting jargon or complicated account setup.

Plan by week or month, organize categories into groups, and explore your finances through graphs and detailed reports. You can create multiple scenarios to answer “what if?” questions, such as how moving, changing jobs, taking a trip, or adjusting recurring expenses could affect your future balance. The Reconcile view lets you compare Cashculator’s calculated balance with your real-world balance and correct the forecast when needed.

Cashculator can import transactions from bank, credit card, and other CSV files, while keeping your financial documents on your Mac rather than sending them to the developer’s servers. Recent versions also include transaction attachments, a Command Palette for fast keyboard navigation, customizable themes, and an optional local MCP server that lets compatible AI assistants analyze and manage your financial data.
