CARACAL Fleet is a self-hosted control center for CARACAL digital signage. Monitor, fill, schedule, install and update every screen from one web interface, with one docker compose up. No subscription, no per-screen fees, no cloud.
Watch every screen
Live state of every screen: online status, CPU, RAM, disk, temperature and what is playing right now, plus a Needs attention list explaining each issue
Screen wall with a live view of all screens, a map of locations and 24-hour / 7-day availability graphs
Alerts by e-mail, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Discord, Telegram, ntfy or webhook, with “resolved” messages and maintenance muting
Proof of play with charts and CSV export, plus monthly PDF reports
Diagnostics for black screens, one-click reinstall and an SSH console right in the browser
Content that just works, even behind a login
Playlists with web pages, images, videos, Grafana collections, PDFs and PowerPoint/Word documents
Automatic sign-in to websites behind a login form or the browser’s HTTP log-in pop-up; credentials are stored encrypted on the screen only and never kept on the hub
Widgets: clock, weather, RSS news, CSV/Google Sheets tables, calendars and meeting-room status from Microsoft 365 or Google, QR codes and tickers
IP cameras (RTSP, HTTP, ONVIF auto-discovery) in grids of up to 9
Content with validity, so a weekend offer appears and disappears by itself
On-screen notifications from Grafana, Alertmanager, Uptime Kuma, Zabbix and ticketing tools, and one-click emergency messages for all or selected screens
Run the whole fleet
Global playlists deployed to many screens, with 50 kept versions and a per-device preview of changes
Schedules by time and weekday, screen hours with HDMI-CEC power saving and timed actions
Approval workflow, shared media library with Replace everywhere and node templates
Groups, locations, labels and multi-tenant customers for companies running screens for others
Commands reach a screen within a second; screens can sit behind NAT
Zero-touch install and safe updates
Prepare an SD card for Raspberry Pi, a USB stick for a PC (Alpine or Ubuntu), use one install command or discover devices in the network and install over SSH
Updates with automatic rollback, staged rollouts to pilot nodes first
Air-gapped networks: Fleet can be the only download source for packages, Docker and CARACAL
Fleet updates itself in one click
Enterprise-ready security
Thirteen permissions in custom roles scoped to locations, groups or devices; two-factor sign-in, single sign-on through OpenID Connect (Entra ID, Google, Keycloak, Authentik); audit log; REST API and signed webhooks; encrypted off-site backups to S3, WebDAV, SFTP, SMB, NFS or any rclone cloud.
Runs on any Linux server with Docker (amd64 or arm64, a Raspberry Pi works too). UI in English, Czech, Slovak, German and Polish. Open source.
