What is BuckDNS?

BuckDNS is a self-hosted DNS server for Linux and Windows designed for home, business and lab networks. It can operate as a full recursive resolver using the DNS root servers or forward requests through upstream DNS providers using standard DNS, DNS-over-HTTPS or DNS-over-TLS. BuckDNS includes network-wide domain blocking, blocklist subscriptions, custom allow and block rules, DNSSEC validation, local and authoritative DNS zones, conditional forwarding, caching, prefetching, query logging and traffic statistics. Multiple BuckDNS servers can also be paired together. Configuration, zones, filtering and other DNS settings are synchronized from the primary server to its replicas, while each replica continues serving DNS independently if the primary server is unavailable. BuckDNS is managed through its web interface and can run on physical hardware, virtual machines or containers.
