BIMCamel

BIMCamel is a set of free online BIM tools that run in your browser. Open an IFC model, check it, clean it, convert it, and download the result — no installation, no licence seat, and no account needed for your first run. There is a sample building loaded and ready, so you can see any tool work before you upload anything of your own.

Fifty-eight tools cover the jobs an IFC actually lands on your desk for:

View and inspect. A free online IFC viewer that opens IFC2x3, IFC4 and IFC4x3 models, with an element inspector for properties, quantities and spatial structure.

Validate and check. IDS validation against buildingSMART Information Delivery Specifications, plus an IDS maker if you don't have one yet. Clash detection and clearance checks. Model health checks covering geometry, schema identity, spatial structure, coordinates, data completeness, level and unit consistency, and performance. Discipline checks for fire egress, fire compartmentation, accessibility, space programme and load-bearing continuity.

Clean and slim. Reduce IFC file size, simplify geometry, deep clean, strip drawing layers, delete elements or property sets, keep only physical elements.

Restructure. Merge IFC files, split a model by storey or discipline, manage storeys, transform geometry, convert units, edit georeferencing, upgrade or downgrade schema version, anonymise a model before sharing, bulk rename elements.

Data in and out. Extract IFC data, IFC to Excel and Excel to IFC, quantity takeoff, base quantities, add and edit property sets.

Convert. IFC to glTF, OBJ, STEP, DXF, CAD drawings, COBie and AVEVA E3D.

Compare and coordinate. Diff two IFC revisions, raise and export BCF issues, share a model by link.

Desktop plugins. A Navisworks exporter that converts NWD and NWC files to IFC, and Dyncamelo, visual programming for Navisworks 2024.

Every tool is available on every tier. Paid plans lift quantity, not capability. Guests get 3 runs a day with 50 MB uploads; a free account raises that to 10 runs a day with 100 MB. Pro allows 500 MB and Team 1 GB. There is no trial clock and no watermarks.

Files are uploaded over HTTPS and processed on our servers. Guest uploads are stream-only — working files are deleted as soon as your download finishes. Free accounts keep results for 7 days, Pro 90 days, Team 180 days. Files are never shared with third parties or used to train AI.
