What is BDInfo?
BDInfo is a utility for analyzing the technical structure and contents of Blu-ray discs. It can scan a BD-ROM drive, mounted ISO image, or folder containing a Blu-ray layout and list the available MPLS playlists. For each playlist, BDInfo displays its duration, referenced file size, constituent M2TS files, and stream details such as codec, language, bitrate, and other relevant metadata. This can help identify the main feature, alternate cuts, bonus material, and multi-angle content.
A full bitrate scan provides more accurate measurements and can generate a detailed text report. BDInfo also creates charts showing video bitrate and frame size over time, along with I-, P-, and B-frame counts and sizes. Charts can be zoomed, navigated, copied to the clipboard, or saved as image files.
Filtering options allow short or looping playlists to be hidden, while reports can include details about partial file references, alternate angles, playlist sizes, runtimes, and overall bitrates.
