What is AuthAlert?

AuthAlert is a straightforward API service that detects new device access to user accounts, sending instant alerts via email, webhooks, or triggering MFA workflows to enhance security for your website or apps.

When a user successfully logs in, the frontend calls AuthAlert's API to detect the user's device and IP address. AuthAlert checks the database to see if the device is new. If a new device is detected, AuthAlert can:

  1. Respond to the frontend with a new device flag to trigger two-factor or multi-factor authentication (2FA/MFA).
  2. Send an email to the user via Mailgun with a predefined template to inform them of the new device login.
  3. Trigger a webhook with the device information for further actions, such as sending SMS or email notifications.
