What is Ascope?

Ascope is a native macOS app for App Store Optimization (ASO). You add your own iPhone or Mac apps, or a competitor's, and it checks where they rank for every keyword in more than 50 App Store countries once a day, keeping the full ranking history.

For each keyword it shows Apple's own popularity score, on the same 5 to 100 scale Apple reports in Apple Search Ads, and a difficulty score from 0 to 100 derived from the apps already ranking for that term. Estimated popularity values are marked so they can be told apart from Apple's own numbers.

Other features include keyword suggestions with popularity and difficulty prefilled, ratings and rating counts per country with daily history, competitor tracking including the apps Apple shows in "You Might Also Like", and a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor and Claude Code read rankings and research keywords.

Apps, keywords and ranking history are stored locally on the Mac. Ascope is distributed directly as a signed and notarized universal build and requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It is not affiliated with Apple.
