What is Arroxy?
Arroxy is a free, open-source desktop YouTube downloader for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built for speed, privacy, and simplicity, it lets you download YouTube videos, Shorts, subtitles, and audio without logging in, exporting cookies, linking a Google account, or sending files through third-party servers.
Paste a YouTube URL, choose your quality, pick a destination, and download. Arroxy supports up to 4K UHD, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, high-frame-rate streams, HDR video, and audio-only exports in MP3, AAC, or Opus. Downloads are processed locally using yt-dlp and ffmpeg, with automatic updates to keep the underlying download engine current when YouTube changes.
Arroxy is designed to remove the usual friction from desktop video downloaders. There are no premium tiers, no usage caps, no browser extensions, no account sessions to expire, and no cookie export workflow. The app includes a multi-download queue, clipboard URL detection, automatic cleanup of tracking parameters, tray-mode background downloads, embedded metadata and cover art, and subtitle support in SRT, VTT, or ASS.
For cleaner playback and archiving, Arroxy also includes SponsorBlock integration. You can skip, cut, or chapter-mark sponsor segments, intros, outros, self-promotions, and other categories, with per-category control.

Arroxy runs locally on your device. Your downloads, URLs, history, files, and video titles are not uploaded to a remote conversion server. Anonymous telemetry is limited to basic app health and usage signals and can be disabled in settings.
