What is Druide Antidote?
Antidote is a complete set of software reference tools for writing French. It includes an advanced grammar checker with smart filters, a rich collection of dictionaries, and a set of interactive language guides. Seamlessly integrated with major word processors and email programs, Antidote's tools are available instantaneously right from your text.
Antidote was designed first and foremost for native French speakers. If you can already read French reasonably well, you can use its dictionaries and guides to improve your skills. If you can also write recognizable French, the grammar checker will help you correct and understand your mistakes. Antidote’s interface and documentation are only available in French, but it will work with the English version of any compatible software.

Has a great dictionary and writing correction tools. Also has many grammatical reference materials for English that help you learn the language. All local on your PC that can be purchased once, forever. Therefore, infinitely better than Grammarly and the likes.
Best grammar checker that runs on your local system, with no internet required.
Too expensive with only English and French support. I have no idea why they chose French, Spanish or German would have been better to start with.
Good tool in French, Awful in English. I used Antidote for almost 10 years which was always provided by my company. I bought one of the last version (5 years ago) because they claim being able to improve grammar and sentence in french and English. I would say it is a Great tool in French, it is the worst tool in English. I complained several time and they told me it is better with the last version but when I asked them for a demo before buying/upgrading, they said no, so I use it only in french.
Even if I an a native french speaker, I do use it systematically on my e-mails. I helps to polish the text. It is not just about catching spelling errors, but also about punctuation, style, repeated words, and grammar. What I really like is that each mistake or suggestion is annotated with a short explanation, but that the full detailed rule with examples and references is available too.
