What is aluni?
aluni moon & sun turns the iPhone home screen into a working celestial clock. A flat horizon line splits the dial into sky above and ground below, and the sun and moon move across it in real time, so a single glance answers whether the moon is up, where to look for it, and how much daylight is left.
Unlike a moon-phase tracker, the clock face itself follows the sky: the hours compress and stretch with the true length of day and night at your location, so a long summer day visibly fills more of the dial than a winter one.
Alongside the dial it shows moon phase and illumination, sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset, the moon's altitude and compass bearing, and a lunar calendar of full moons, new moons, solstices and equinoxes. Quiet alerts can arrive before the moon rises or sets, and a cloud-cover outlook indicates whether tonight is actually worth stepping outside for.
Widgets are available for the home screen, Lock Screen and StandBy in a range of styles and twelve hand-crafted themes. Everything runs on the device: no account, no ads, no tracking, and the celestial calculations work without an internet connection. The app is localized in 23 languages.
