Instead of fighting the crowds in Bali, you might be pointed to Coron in the Philippines. Tired of queues in Paris? Try Ghent. Considering Dubai? Amman might be the trip you actually remember. Every suggestion comes from someone who's made the swap themselves, with a short rationale explaining why one place captures the spirit of the other without the crowds.

Each alternative includes ratings across categories like authenticity, value, crowd levels, and overall experience, so you can quickly judge whether a place fits the trip you're planning.
