What is Alternate TextBrowser?
Alternate TextBrowser allows a fast navigation through text-files. The program offers the possibility to open multiple text-files at once. This program includes also a Hex-Editor with multiple methods to display files as bytes. Syntax highlighting inside the editor is available for several programming languages and be also be extended.
This program makes it easy to browse through text-files and also allows you to edit them (HTML and XML-files, too). A syntax highlighting for several programming languages/file-types is available and may be configured for different file-extensions. The program includes Alternate Memo and Alternate Calculator as additional tools.
Comments and Reviews
Not bad as a Tabbed Notepad, but the Compare feature is awkward. You can't use the already opened files, you have to reload. You can see the differences and you get the illusion that you can edit the file there, but you can't. You can only make a copy of the differences.
