What is Adblock Plus?
Adblock Plus is a free extension that allows you to - among other things - block annoying ads, disable tracking and block domains known to spread malware.
Available for Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Maxthon, Opera, Safari and Yandex, Adblock Plus uses filters that you choose to block all unwanted elements.
Adblock Browser , a mobile web browser with Adblock Plus built-in, is also available for Android and iOS.
Adblock Plus itself does not block ads by default. However it does unblock 3rd party ads who pay to be included on our whitelist via EyeO, our parent company.
Adblock Plus requires the user to "tell" it what to block by adding external filter lists. Filter lists are essentially an extensive set of rules that tell Adblock Plus which elements of a website to block. Our default whitelist is enabled by default overriding all blocklists by default.
You can add any filter list you want. For example, block tracking or malware. You can also create your own filter lists. Almost all filters are open source, therefore many filter lists have been created by Internet users.
You can "opt" out of our unblocking whitelist by disabling it manually.
Filter lists enabled by default include:
An ad-blocking list selected based on your language (EasyList) The Acceptable Ads list
These are enabled to get you started. You can remove them or add others - it's up to you.
EasyList corresponds to your browser language and is aimed at disabling ads that are considered to be intrusive by our community of users. Eyeo GmbH did not draft EasyList and therefore has no right to, or control over, its content other than our default global whitelist. Visit the EasyList Community for more information.
The Acceptable Ads whitelist displays ads that comply with the acceptable ads criteria. The list is maintained by Eyeo GmbH.

Comments and Reviews
Adblock Plus is a web browser extension that comes with a clean, user-friendly interface and increased functionality. It blocks YouTube ads, floating video ads, display ads, and banner ads, browse anonymously without trackers creating a profile of you. You can whitelist a site to always allow ads or toggle off the blocker for a specific page. There’s no need to create a block list, as the plugin does that for you. This is all extremely useful, especially for a free product. The free version of ABP is may be all you need to enhance your webpage experience but if you subscribe to the premium you will have even more options like blocking site notifications and blocking floating videos. If you want to filter more content, subscribe to the appropriate ABP filter list from easylist.to
ABP hase a whitelist of acceptable ads enabled by default which can be disabled if you want.
If you are facing unblocked ads, repport it to easylist at github.com
-worse than uBlock Origin (and uBlock Origin Lite if you use chrome) -paid by ad companies to show you ads
Its trying to become monopoly
This is the extension they always have built-in for Browsers that can't get extensions. Makes me think there's some incentive. I've always preferred AdGuard.
I clicked on an affiliate link from Wirecutter. Safari said, "The URL was blocked by a content blocker." I added the domain name to the allowlist in Adblock Plus, but it continued to block the URL.
Thorin Klosowski writes on Wirecutter, "I’ve found that AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, and Ghostery all have steep learning curves or poor performance," [0].
ghost writes on GitHub, "AdBlock Plus for Safari - Supports acceptable ads, a pay-to-play ad allowing system which allows certain ads and trackers which meet guidelines and pay AdBlock Plus. Some of these ads, imo, are not acceptable, and I don't consider any trackers acceptable," [1].

Greedy App! takes money from ad companies to whitelist ads = users of Adblock Plus seeing ads!!
