What is 1.1.1.1?
1.1.1.1 from CloudFlare is the fast and private way to browse the Internet. It is a public DNS resolver, but unlike most DNS resolvers, 1.1.1.1 is not selling user data to advertisers. The implementation of 1.1.1.1 makes it the fastest resolver out there.
Accompanying mobile apps provide easy access to WARP+ VPN, extending privacy and optimization features to all internet activity, not just DNS.

Speed and privacy improvements compared to your normal DNS.
Initially, my cynical side made me think that 1.1.1.1 brought no technological or moral advantage over Google's DNS services or those of any other ISP. But that's not the case. Here's why 1.1.1.1 is good for you, the internet and even online privacy.
Technological advantages
1.1.1.1 Consistently out-perform other DNS services for speed. At least for US-based users. They also implement a range of security improvements over the average ISP's DNS service.
Privacy
If you search online for something, even over https, whoever resolves your requests - typically your internet service provider - will know what you searched for and can record that and use it to profile you, sell that information (which became legal in the US in 2017) or give it away to government surveillance on request. If you change your DNS to 1.1.1.1, Cloudflare will still need to know what you are searching for (of course) to allow you to connect there, but - and this is a big but: they have pledged to erase all logs of this within 24 hours, and have agreed for that to be verified by KPMG. This has profound advantages to those wishing to circumvent censorship and ensure their ISP isn't profiling browsing habits. Of course, that doesn't mean you won't need a VPN (which you should still get: I recommend Private Internet Access or ProtonVPN).
It's easy-peasy to set up, even for non-techies:

Another clear, honest and reliable review. Thanks once again, John.
Most companies, ISPs and end-users seem to be using CloudFlare by default, while CloudFlare claims privacy on the matter, they actually create a Unique ID corresponding to each connection. This actually is an issue outside regarding privacy by itself, but a really bad example of what's going on it's Meta's Facebook banning randomly accounts or even new users cannot create an account without a verification process being prompted & even by complying with the verification process through video-selfie, it results on an automatic ban anyway, I did test this on my own with different scenarios and the culprit is the DNS on both sides; theirs & yours. Never forget that CloudFlare did censored KiwiFarms too, despite what you think on the matter of such website, it still is censorship.
Seems very easy to use, but I miss the feedback that I got with NextDns about Queries. Not as many options.
1.1.1.1 for Families does not support customizing which categories to block.

1.1.1.1 for Families blocks DNS queries, so it cannot block offline apps and games.
Unfortunately, 1.1.1.1 for Families does not block proxy services.
There speed was just a notch up from google , the privacey was uped, up a notch aswell, but here's the thing if it.. ONLY holds your dats for 24 houres or whatever it say's,, then gets rid by not selling it,,, it just sticks it in the bin ,,, rigggggggghhhhhhtttttt,,, okkkk, then why hold it in the first place,, i n m y o p p i n i o n ... its holding logs ... that being said its still not the fastest out there ...opps for me i should say because im in the UK ... i should have sayed this in my mission
