Stremio brings live TV guide, interface zoom, enhanced video player and Windows VLC option

Stremio has rolled out its latest update, bringing a host of improvements to its desktop, mobile, and web platforms. Headlining the release is a full program guide for Live TV channels in discover, letting viewers see what's airing right now and what's coming up next, along with a redesigned channel page featuring the day's schedule. The guide pulls data from users' add-ons, if a Live TV add-on provides a program schedule, the EPG appears automatically beneath that add-on's TV catalog, while add-ons without schedules display their channels as a standard list. Another standout addition is the new interface zoom setting, which scales the entire interface up or down in both browsers and desktop apps, a welcome accessibility feature.

The player experience receives substantial polish as well. Subtitle and audio language selections now carry over between episodes during binge-watching, hovering the seek bar displays a timestamp preview, and playback speed control gets an upgraded slider, more options, and an on-screen speed indicator. Subtitle delay can be fine-tuned in 100ms steps with hold-to-accelerate buttons, options for styled ASS subtitles have been expanded, and a new keyboard shortcut cycles through video scale modes (fit, fill, stretch) with the choice remembered.

Desktop users gain several meaningful additions: the desktop apps can now open magnet links and .torrent files directly, macOS and Windows users can choose their streaming cache folder, and VLC is now offered as an external player on Windows. visionOS gains CineUltra as an external player option, and watch progress from Infuse is now tracked, keeping Continue Watching and watched statuses accurate. The update also brings improvements for mobile and PWA users: horizontal row scrolling on the board, bottom-sheet previews in discover, more responsive touch feedback, and proper iOS launch screens. Rounding out the release are automatic web app updates, Latin American Spanish as a new interface language, and confirmation prompts for untrusted streaming server URLs only.
