Firefox for iOS now has a built-in ad blocker, but it won't block every ad you see

Mozilla has officially introduced a native ad blocker for Firefox on iOS, following its experimental launch two weeks earlier. The built-in feature blocks many third-party ads and ad-related trackers before they load. Mozilla says this can reduce clutter and distractions while browsing.

Under the hood, the feature uses Apple's WebKit Content Blocker technology and EasyList to decide what to block. It requires no separate extension. Users can enable it in Firefox settings, but it is disabled by default on their device.

However, the filter does not remove every advertisement. Ads served directly by a visited site will remain visible. Ads in search results will also remain. Moreover, sponsored shortcuts and other sponsored content on Firefox's new-tab page are not blocked.
