DigitalOcean launches Managed Agents with runtime and tool gateway
DigitalOcean has opened Managed Agents to all users after a private preview, providing managed infrastructure for agent harnesses including Codex CLI, OpenCode, and custom containerized agents.
The service combines Harness Runtime, which provides persistent Firecracker microVM sessions with pause, resume, and fork controls, with Action Gateway, a managed MCP endpoint for governed access to more than 16,000 tools across 500-plus providers.
DigitalOcean says CPU billing is based on active consumption, while paused sessions retain their state without CPU or memory charges.
