EndeavourOS Titan Nova brings Linux 7.1 kernel before major Wayland-based Triton release

EndeavourOS has released Titan Nova, a minor update for its Arch-based, terminal-centric Linux distribution. The release is intended as a bridge while the team continues work on the delayed Triton major version. Triton is planned to run Wayland in its live environment because of upcoming KDE Plasma desktop changes.

Meanwhile, Titan Nova ships with the Linux 7.1.8 kernel and refreshed packages. Updates include Calamares 26.03, Firefox 153, Mesa 1:26, Xorg-server 21.1, Nvidia-utils 610.57, and Nvidia-open 610.54.

For installation, the update applies a temporary patch for setup errors linked to recent keyboard configuration changes. The team says a permanent fix is planned for the Triton release.

On desktop choices, the installer temporarily removes the Budgie option. Its current upstream version is transitioning to Wayland and does not yet provide the project's preferred default experience.

For NVIDIA hardware, the live ISO also improves the experience when systems use the Nouveau drivers.
