Infuse 8.5 introduces transcoding controls and improved search on Apple devices

Infuse 8.5 adds transcoding controls for Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Users can request lower bitrate, server optimized versions of videos to reduce buffering and improve playback when streaming remotely or over slower connections.

Transcoding options are available by long pressing the Play button, which shows compatible versions from the connected media server. Users can also configure the prompt to appear automatically under Settings Playback Transcoding. Direct Play remains the default, preserving the original video and audio quality, while the same menu can be used to select other versions already stored on the server.

The update also reorganizes search results for movies, shows, episodes, collections, and people, providing a more consistent experience across platforms. Infuse 8.5 includes additional media server integration updates, WebDAV and connection improvements, minor fixes, and interface refinements.
