Rockstar finally reveals the price of GTA VI, set to launch on November 19

Rockstar has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19, with pre-orders beginning June 25. Players who reserve the game or purchase it early can start preloading from November 12, while physical code-in-a-box editions arrive in stores one week ahead of release. Unlike past entries, the retail edition will not include a disc, instead providing a download code possibly due to the game's anticipated large file size, which means you will basically no longer be able to resell their copy once you're done with it.

One of the most talked details was undoubtedly the price of this new entry, which had been rumored to potentially become the first AAA game to officially cost $100 USD. In this case, Rockstar revealed that GTA 6’s standard edition will retail for $79.99, placing it above the current $70 norm for major video games, but still below the more dramatic speculative prices. However, technically there is a $100 version, with the Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99 and offering exclusive in-game vehicles, weapons, apparel, and other items, although these bonuses unlock gradually through gameplay. Pre-orders or purchases made by November 20 grant access to the Vintage Vice City pack, featuring the ’55 Vapie Stainier car, character outfits, hairstyles, a weapon skin, and one month of subscription benefits for Grand Theft Auto Online.

The game will initially be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with no confirmed release date for PC, and I personally wouldn't hold my breath for it for at least another year. According to official store listings, GTA 6 is described as a single-player experience at launch, leaving future plans for Grand Theft Auto Online unclear, although it will most likely be released later as a standalone game. Rockstar has also released 63 new screenshots, showcasing expanded character customization, vehicles, and the Vice City-inspired, Florida-like setting.
