Raindrop now lets you transcribe & chat with YouTube videos through its Stella AI chatbot
Raindrop has introduced a major new feature, allowing users to chat directly with YouTube videos via its AI assistant, Stella, which was introduced a couple of months ago. By saving a YouTube video to Raindrop, users can access the full transcript through Stella and ask for summaries, key points, or specific information without watching the content. This allows for quick understanding and efficient information retrieval.
While previously Stella enabled AI-driven interactions with articles, PDFs, and web pages, video content remained inaccessible beyond its title and thumbnail. With the latest update, Stella can now process the words spoken in any saved video, allowing the same chat and analysis features as for other formats. Users can summarize main ideas, explain key arguments, extract specific details, navigate to precise moments, translate sections or the whole video, and even generate quizzes to test comprehension.
Building on this expanded coverage, Stella now serves as a unified content assistant across the Raindrop library, covering articles, documents, web content, and videos. To address privacy, Stella operates solely on Raindrop.io’s own servers using an open-source AI model, ensuring no content is shared or used for AI training. This feature is currently available in beta to Pro members.
