Privacy-focused Android operating system GrapheneOS has fully been ported to Android 17
Following the public release of Android 17, the GrapheneOS team has announced that their privacy and security-centric mobile operating system has already been fully ported to the new version. The developers are currently finalizing the process of pushing this code to their public repositories to support ongoing community development and review.
In addition to the Android 17 port, the team has prepared a final official GrapheneOS release based on Android 16 QPR2. They expect that an initial release based on Android 17 will be made available very soon, providing users the opportunity to receive the latest platform upgrades.
Once the Android 17 code push is complete, early adopters and contributors will be able to begin building and testing the new version for themselves. The Android 17 build has already undergone successful testing on a wide range of Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6a, 7, 7a, 8, 10a, 10, and 10 Pro Fold. Following these internal tests, the team plans to initiate public testing for upcoming official releases.
