Google Finance launches a new standalone Android app with real-time data and AI features
Google has released a standalone Google Finance app for Android, bringing real-time market data, a live financial news feed, and the platform’s AI research tool to mobile. A dedicated iOS version is expected later this year, while more features from the web experience are set to arrive on the app in the coming months.
Google Finance’s web experience is also receiving an AI centered redesign, now out of beta. The update includes an upgraded portfolio dashboard that consolidates investments, shows performance metrics, and provides asset allocation insights. Users can create investment profiles by uploading CSV or PDF files or by describing their holdings to the chatbot.
The chatbot can now access user portfolios, answer follow-up questions, and complete data retrieval tasks on demand, such as generating daily pre-market briefings on major cryptocurrency movements. Keep in mind that Google itself notes that AI can make mistakes, that financial data is synthesized from third-party sources, and that users should independently verify information or consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.
