Calibre 9.10 brings redesigned content server UI, PWA support, image compression, and more

Calibre 9.10 arrives as the latest update to the free and open source e-book management platform. A key highlight is the introduction of a redesigned content server interface, now featuring a modern appearance and a sidebar that streamlines navigation. Alongside these visual enhancements, the content server now supports installation as a Progressive Web App (PWA) when accessed over HTTPS, allowing users to launch Calibre directly from desktop or mobile home screens.

Following these server enhancements, the book editor gains keyword-based filtering for saved searches, assisting users in locating specific search presets more efficiently. The image compression tool now offers conversion of PNG files to JPEG or WEBP, allowing for better optimization of image file sizes within e-books. For styling and formatting, CSS Level 4 selector support has been integrated, ensuring compatibility with current stylesheet standards.

Building on interface updates, the cover grid now automatically scales larger cover images to fit within the viewport, and the annotations' browser introduces the ability to filter by custom annotation styles. In terms of reliability, version 9.10 resolves 8 bugs and updates 3 news sources, maintaining software stability and improving usability.
