Roku home screen gets major redesign with smarter recommendations and streamlined features
Roku has released its most substantial home screen update in over ten years, presenting users with a smarter, more dynamic interface. This major redesign aims to reduce friction in content discovery by using intelligence models to adapt layouts to individual viewing preferences. The refreshed experience delivers content recommendations based on each viewer’s interests and assembles billions of possible home screen combinations selected by Roku when the TV is turned on.
Building on these personalization efforts, the update brings several functional improvements. Users gain quick access to frequently used apps, an expanded “Top Picks for You” section prioritizing relevant content, and genre-based destinations to streamline browsing. Meanwhile, search capabilities have been enhanced within key destinations, and a streamlined collapsible menu, shortcuts for routine tasks, a dynamic row highlighting trending series, and interactive variations of favorite screensavers further contribute to seamless navigation.
The new home screen is rolling out now to all Roku TVs and streaming devices in the United States. Roku will extend availability to other countries in the coming months, ensuring wider access to the enhanced platform experience as deployment progresses.
