Cursor 3 launches unified multi-repo workspace for building software with AI agents
Cursor 3, the latest release of the AI-native development environment, delivers a unified workspace designed for building software with AI agents. The new multi-repo interface enables humans and agents to collaborate across different repositories, offering a clearer and higher-level view of project progress with quick access to details as needed.
The platform now allows users to move agent sessions smoothly between cloud and local environments. Developers can edit and test locally or transfer sessions to the cloud to continue running tasks or free up their own resources. Supporting this flexibility, all local and cloud agents, even those initiated from tools like Slack, GitHub, or Linear, are now displayed in a consolidated sidebar for easier management.
Following these workflow improvements, cloud agents provide demos and screenshots as part of their outputs, now directly integrated into the desktop app for instant verification. Cursor 3 also features an updated diffs view, allowing users to review code changes, stage edits, commit updates, and manage pull requests with a streamlined interface.
For those working within the IDE, Cursor retains capabilities like “go to definition” and Language Server Protocol (LSP) support, and includes a web browser for interacting with local websites. Developers can further extend agent functionality through hundreds of available plugins, adding skills, MCPs, and subagents to suit diverse workflows.
