Google gives Gemini more capabilities for collaborating in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive

Google is introducing enhanced capabilities to Gemini within Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive, aiming to make the AI features more personal, capable, and collaborative. Gemini now draws on sources across your files, emails, and the web, allowing it to pull relevant information, connect data points, and generate useful insights.

Gemini in Docs acts as a writing assistant, supporting contextual content creation, personalized writing styles, and offering new editing tools. Following these writing improvements, Gemini in Sheets now assists users by creating, organizing, and editing complete spreadsheets, covering both basic and advanced data analysis tasks based on user instructions.

After the updates in Docs and Sheets, Gemini in Slides provides tools for generating professional layouts, fully editable diagrams, and entire presentations from scratch, managing design and formatting to help users focus on their content. Meanwhile, Google Drive introduces Ask Gemini, transforming the platform from a file repository into an interactive assistant that helps users find information and gain insights efficiently.

These upgrades are initially rolling out in beta to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. They are available in English worldwide for Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and in the United States for Drive.
