DietPi 10.2 adds Immich, uv, RustDesk Client, updated scripts, and many other enhancements
DietPi 10.2 has been released as the latest update of this lightweight Debian-based Linux distribution for single board computers (SBCs). This release adds Immich, a self-hosted solution for efficient photo and video management. The update also introduces Immich Machine Learning, which enables features such as facial recognition and smart search using CLIP embeddings.
Building on new software additions, DietPi now offers uv, a high-speed Python package and project manager written in Rust. Alongside, RustDesk Client is now available for remote desktop sharing, complementing existing RustDesk Server integration. Additionally, the software installer has gained a graphical desktop selection menu, improving the setup process for users seeking a desktop environment.
For system performance, the benchmark script has been moved to /boot/dietpi/dietpi-benchmark, and users can run it directly from the console using the dietpi-benchmark alias. Configuration menus now allow selection of the CPU temperature sensor to tailor monitoring scripts. The dietpi-arr_to_RAM script was renamed to dietpi-servarr_to_ram, now featuring support for Prowlarr and enhanced symlink protection.
DietPi 10.2 updates the Home Assistant Python virtual environment to version 3.14 to meet new requirements, enables UrBackup for ARMv6 on Trixie and Raspbian 13 via the openSUSE Build Service, and delivers packages for Amiberry v8.0.0 with SDL3. Several bug fixes are also included in this release.
