Cursor is now available in JetBrains IDEs, offering AI model choice and secure code search
Cursor, the AI-powered integrated development environment, is now available as an Agent Client Protocol (ACP) integration for JetBrains IDEs, including IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, and WebStorm. This broadens Cursor’s reach by allowing developers in these environments to bring advanced AI tooling into their existing workflows.
Through Cursor ACP, users working on Java and multilanguage projects in JetBrains IDEs can utilize agent-driven development with a choice of frontier large language models. Developers are able to select from models provided by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Cursor for different use cases. This flexibility supports a wide variety of workflow and project needs.
In addition to model flexibility, the integration combines Cursor’s secure codebase indexing and semantic search with JetBrains’ deep code intelligence. These features help developers understand and navigate large, complex enterprise codebases when using JetBrains IDEs with Cursor ACP.
To get started, developers can install Cursor ACP directly through the JetBrains AI chat interface and authenticate using their existing Cursor account. The integration is available at no additional cost to all users with paid Cursor plans.
