Vivaldi 7.8 brings pinned tabs, privacy dashboard, and gesture upgrades to iOS & Android

Vivaldi 7.8 has arrived on mobile devices, reaching both iOS and Android just a week after its desktop debut. This update delivers several notable features and usability changes across platforms.

On Android, users now benefit from pinned tabs, enabling efficient organization for those who keep many tabs open throughout the day. The version also introduces a privacy dashboard, making it easy to see which trackers and advertisements are blocked during browsing sessions. For login management, Android users can now pick between the built-in password manager or delegate credential handling to third-party services such as Bitwarden or 1Password. Additional Android improvements include the ability to search using selected text directly in private tabs and a new setting that disables the pull-to-refresh gesture.

Turning to iOS, this release utilizes the address bar for faster navigation, with swipe gestures that provide immediate access to the tab switcher. Users gain the flexibility to add custom search engines from any website, matching a feature already available on Android. Additionally, the tab switcher now lets users close tabs quickly with a swipe, streamlining tab management for iPhone and iPad users.
