League of Legends set to launch long-awaited global team voice chat feature

League of Legends appears to finally be preparing an in game team voice chat upgrade that many players have wanted for years. Riot Games is reportedly working on global team voice chat, which would expand voice communication beyond the current setup that only supports premade parties.

In the League of Legends Public Beta, a new lobby setting has been spotted that lets users enable team voice chat when joining a lobby. Dataminers have also found references in the game files pointing to a broader voice chat overhaul, suggesting this is more than a small test.

If implemented, the update would let players talk to their entire team, including solo queue teammates who were not part of the premade group. The system is described as having two separate push to talk inputs, one for party chat and another for full team chat, with both bindable to a player’s preferred keys or controls.

Oh this will surely go well, a game that is notorious for being one of the most toxic environments of all time getting voice chat. Also was there really any reason to use an AI generated image for this? I found the original and it would've sufficed properly, it's disgusting.
