Figma now lets you vectorize raster images rasily for instant image-to-vector conversion

Figma has launched Vectorize, a major new feature that lets users convert raster images directly into editable vector shapes within the design platform. In a single click, images can be brought onto the Figma canvas and converted to vectors without leaving the application. This integration enables designers to scale, refine, and adjust artwork without disrupting their workflow or losing creative control.

While Figma previously lacked native image vectorization, similar capabilities have long been available in Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape. Vectorize closes this gap, removing the need for external tools and making advanced editing accessible within Figma at no additional cost. The feature supports a range of use cases: designers can convert hand-drawn illustrations, make text from scanned documents editable, and create reusable vector texture overlays.

Following its introduction, Vectorize is now accessible in Figma Design and Figma Draw for Full-seat users on Professional, Organization, and Enterprise plans, provided that AI features are enabled. This rollout aims to boost productivity for teams already working at scale within Figma’s collaborative environment.
